Marc Rubin, CPA, CVA

Marc Rubin began his career as a CPA with the accounting firm Berman
Goldman & Ribakow LLP. Since 2002, he has served as the firm's
managing partner as well as the head of the Valuation Department. Vast
growth in the demand for valuation services prompted Mr. Rubin to co-found
Patuxent Valuation Group.
Mr. Rubin's clients benefit from his broad knowledge in the areas of
accounting, auditing, and tax planning. He is recognized for his extensive
experience in performing valuations for mergers and acquisitions and
partner buy/sell analyses. In addition, Mr. Rubin specializes in the
real estate and restaurant industries.
A 1975 graduate from the University of Maryland, he received a BS degree
in accounting. In addition, he has earned the designation of Certified
Valuation Analyst (CVA). Mr. Rubin's professional affiliations include
serving as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants
(AICPA), the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA),
the AICPA's Management Accounting Practice (MAP) Network Group and the
National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts (NACVA). He was
chosen as one of Maryland's Top CPAs in a 2004 Baltimore SmartCEO survey.
In addition, he serves on the board of the Howard County Chamber of Commerce
and is a member of the 2004-2005 class of Leadership Howard County.

Patrick Lowry, MBA, ASA, AVA

Patrick Lowry is a partner and co-founder of the firm. He is an Accredited Senior Appraiser (ASA)
and Accredited Valuation Analyst (AVA) and received an MBA from Northeastern University in Boston.
Mr. Lowry has performed hundreds of business valuations for a wide array
of clients and purposes including mergers and acquisitions, equity financings,
C-corp. to S-corp. conversions, shareholder and marital disputes, estate
and gift taxes, litigation, ESOP and damage claims. He also works closely
with emerging growth companies to prepare business and strategic plans,
determine capital requirements and structure transactions. He has served
as a sell-side advisor to business owners during the sale of the business,
and has performed financial due diligence on behalf of buyers.
His professional affiliations include membership in the National Association
of Certified Valuation Analysts, The Institute of Business Appraisers, and
The American Society of Appraisers.
